TESTIMONIALS

I was privileged to have Coach Sandy as my distance coach my senior
track season and also as my trainer throughout the summer. At first I
did not know what to expect of Sandy with all the pink she was wearing
and her overly upbeat and energetic personality, but her personality was
one of her many traits I grew to love. As a coach she was able to help
us all individually and overall as a team. She wanted each of us to grow
and improve to the best of our ability. From day one Sandy saw the
potential in each and every one of us, from the students who were coming
out to run track for the first time to the students who had been running
track for many years. Sandy was there to encourage, support, and push
us. She helped each of us athletes set a goal and a plan to achieve that
goal. Personally, my goal from the beginning of the track season was to
break 2:20 in the 800m and she helped me achieve that. Once we broke a
goal we would continue setting more. One of my last goals of the track
season was to make it to the state meet in the 800m and I DID IT! I
placed fifth overall and I could not have done it without her and her
encouraging mentality. My senior track season was not normal with some
family trauma that occurred, but Sandy helped keep my desire to run and
have my best season possible. She made every practice and meet
entertaining and fun while still keeping us focused and determined to
give it everything we had. Sandy’s ability to deal with anything that is
thrown in her direction is exceptional. After the track season and
summer training I consider Sandy my mentor. She was not only a coach to
me but someone who I cherished her advice, support and friendship.

"Sandy's personal training and one-on-one coaching was THE saving grace for my first half marathon.  Her enthusiastic and comprehensive guidance ushered my transformation from anxious jogger to a confidant, strong runner.

Sandy systematically and effectively broke down each day of pre-race training into manageable categories of conditioning that not only built up my endurance and strength, but also improved my overall athleticism and got me into awesome shape.  I went into my race with confidence and pure joy knowing that I was ready to work hard and own it!  Not only did I complete the race with surprising ease, I also maintained the pace we established as my goal.

Since working with Sandy, I have continued running, and have raced five more half marathons and countless 10 and 12K's, consistenly dropping time.   I cannot recommend Sandy's Second Wind Coaching highly enough . . . regardless of your experience or athletic history, she will meet you at your level and show you how to reach deep and fulfill your goals and potentials."

"Sandy has an excellent understanding of exercise physiology and is able to apply it to every sport and athlete. She is always questioning, then studying and answering her own questions. She is constantly seeking more knowledge. I am impressed with her ability to "think outside the box" when approaching clients with different pathophysiologies and backgrounds. Her main goal is to make "you" better, whoever you are. Whatever your aspirations, she is the one I would choose to help you reach them."

(Not to mention, she coached, and cheered, then beat me on my first triathlon!)

"As an endurance runner/Ironman triathlete with a very weak run, I looked for someone who could help me improve.  Sandy was great.  She worked with me on basic mechanics and helped me acheive a better technique which has without doubt,  made me a stronger and more confident runner."

"Our daughter Jessie is a natural athlete, though small she is very quick. She played soccer, basketball, and softball in high school and was on select teams from an early age. She decided she wanted to play soccer in college. We hired Sandy to be her trainer. Jessie's college coach wanted  all her players to be in top shape when they began school in the fall. Sandy not only worked Jessie hard , but worked on her running form. She was able to gradually change Jessie's form. Jessie was always one of the fastest runners on her team and always looked graceful.        With the changes implemented by Sandy Jessie became a much faster runner, both in sprints and long distance. Her running looked more effortless and fluid. Even more importantly though the work-outs were hard Jessie truly enjoyed the workouts, even during the heat of summer. Sandy is an exceptionally caring coach with great enthusiasm. She motivates her athletes to work to their maximum capacity. Most importantly Sandy gave Jessie a love for running. Prior to meeting Sandy Jessie ran as part of a proscribed workout, because her coaches made her run. Now she also runs for the sheer pleasure of flying through the air gracefully and fluidly with muscles working effectively , feeling balanced and in tune with her body and her surroundings This is a gift which will keep on giving for years to come. Jessie owes it to Sandy's knowledge, enthusiasm, ability to communicate and dedication to her athletes. My wife and I  without reservation recommend Sandy as a coach for youth and adults."

"I started working with Sandy this past summer to prepare for college soccer.I used to hate running but after working out with her, I found myself missing it on the days I didn’t run.Within a matter of days, she perfected my form, increased my speed, and pushed me beyond limits I never thought I could reach. She is a natural motivator and made running fun!Not only was Sandy my coach but she became a mentor and friend to me as well.I came to college in the best shape of my life and have continued to run every day that I can.I still talk to Sandy all the time whether it is about running or school or whatever comes up!At first some of Sandy’s techniques seemed a little peculiar or out of the ordinary, but that is exactly what makes her different and better than any other trainer. She truly devotes herself to her clients and spends so much of her time finding exactly what the problem is and doing whatever it takes to fix it." --Jessie Neiman

"Sandy is an  inspirational coach. If you're a beginner, as I was,  she will find what you specifically need to focus on, bridging from one obstacle to the next.  Sandy coached me swimming in the lake and was able to help me appreciate the differences in nature v.s pool side. What a powerful transformation of my appreciation for nature that surrounds all of us athletes. Whether you are a beginner or you have been racing for years, Sandy's keen ability and expertise will find your personal obstacle, and ultimately break your old patterns so you can  become a quicker, faster, stronger athlete." --Sandra Whiley, LMP

"Sandy is a coach of unparalleled enthusiasm and encouragement whose uncompromised belief in her client's abilities spurs them on to greater achievment that they otherwise thought possible. Sandy's deep interest in human physiology and biomechanics means she utilizes cutting edge ideas on training and conditioning--that produce real results!"---Suzy Cyr, Age Group Triathlete (put whatever you want here, Sandy, to describe me, inc Nationals and Worlds qualifier?--or you could put housewife and former non-athlete :) )  --Suzy
